The Radiant Resort, Gorakhpur
Project Brief
A family resort with a banquet hall that provides a pleasant stay along with business related accommodations.
Architectural Design USP
The Radiant Resort is a perfect destination for an escape from our daily lives into a serene and beautiful accommodation. A favored place for many activities like holidays, destination weddings, business meetings and much more. The site planning & circulation utilizes the whole site in an efficient manner providing more space for landscape elements like gardens, flower beds etc and the main buildings that include the rooms, suites and other facilities in the resort.
The Concept involves symmetry, perspective and the principles of formal classical architecture from ancient Greek and Roman traditional architecture.
The facades of the buildings are inspired by the Italian Palladian and Neoclassical architectural styles of the 18th and 19th centuries. The idea was to blend classicism and modern architecture in a functional and aesthetically pleasing manner.
The entrance begins with a secured gated passage followed by a drive way which leads to a car port drop off which features a circular flower bed which also acts a separation between the entrance and exit for the drop off. Adequate parking space is provided for the guests & visitors. The driveway is designed at an angle rather than straight to give an impressive opening view +of the resort.
Sloping roofs along with chimney crickets add extensively to the design elements in the site. Long windows bring to the fore grand views from inside-out while providing an aesthetic appeal to the sublime façades of the buildings.
The resort has a large swimming pool with attached roofed patio. The pool area is designed to comfortably accommodate family as well as business leisure activities. A circular staircase becomes a design element for the space which can also be used for an emergency evacuation. Separate locker rooms for men & women have be provided along the pool area.
Roof top of the main building features a green roof with an open to sky café and patio.
A large garden on the northern as well as the southern portion of the site also accommodates an open semi-formal seating for the guests and visitors. The gardens have a central fountain (water body) that also acts as a focal point for the green space.
The Ground floor has a central planning with a large banquet hall in the middle that has access to all the facilities including private rooms, a restaurant and a lobby. The restaurant is a flexible semi-private space that functions according to the requirements of the guests or event.
Engineering Services and security USPs:
The site and building façade lighting is planned in a way so that the entire lighting is divided into various zones. Ceremonial decorative lights present in the interior accentuate an ambience for the various occasions in the resort. CNC patterns are used for various decorative lights to play with the reflections and shadows.
The resort has separately laid services lines for rain water discharge and sewage discharge. The rain water line ends up to the rain water harvesting pit and sewage line ends up to a 2 KLD fully automatic STP. The resort is designed on 0 discharge design guidelines to make it eco-friendly and sustainable.
Garden irrigation is fully automated with strategically planned automatic sprinklers which pop out and water the garden and plants as per requirements set by the horticulturist.
The entire resort has high speed Wi-Fi service with various hot spots strategically placed at outdoor locations also so there is no disturbance in connection while working at any corner of the resort be it swimming pool or landscaped gardens.
Being in considerably secluded area, security was of topmost concern. Considering the security, window glasses are laminated double layered glass with film in between making it more rigid and less vulnerable. Apart from that, 3 tier security is planned by means of CCTV and state of the art technology is used to achieve the optimum level of security.
